Here are a few photographs of the dog that looks over the grapevines in St. Louis , Missouri (his name is ‘Louis’) and one photo of the grapevines in the city of St. Louis, Missouri. The vines are grown in the backyard of a home in St. Louis. You gotta make do sometimes in life. There is a blend of vines planted: Vidal Blanc, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Seyval Blanc, Chambourcin.
The idea that I have right now is learn how to get the vines started and learn how to propogate them. These vines are not planted far enough apart, which is obvious in the photograph, but at least I can pick up little bits of knowledge through the trial/error approach and self-study. For example, this week I learned about the tremendous impact of the Triple-Banded Leafhopper. Gnarley bug it can be. Dealing with this pest is now alerting me to new challenges for my set of experiences. It is a ‘good thing’, as Martha says.
